Another Bentley cover with major Headliner: Kevin J. Anderson Steven Saus of Alliteration Ink contracted Bentley to do the pitch cover of their cross-genre anthology, Street of Shadows, for their Kickstarter project. Editors Maurice Broaddus and Jerry Gordon will be working with authors such as Kristine Kathryn Rusch, Kevin J. Anderson, Tim Lebbon, Seanan McGuire, and Brandon Massey. The final print cover was done by Rhys Griffiths.
A Bentley cover with major Headliners: Silverberg & Resnick Editor and author Bryan Thomas Schmidt put together a Kickstarter project for an anthology, Beyond the Sun. This book is Bentley's first cover with major Headliners: Robert Silverberg, Mike Resnick, Nancy Kress, Kristine Kathryn Rusch, and more. The project was completely funded and picked up by Fairwood Press for publication, and is now available!
Bentley chosen to do the first print cover for JAXAS Publishing A new publishing house JAXAS Publishing, selected Bentley to be the cover artist for their very first publication by Shawn Grimsley, Prometheus Comes. A perfect match, we are excited to be doing this since it is a socially conscious, space opera styled novel. Moreover, they liked the results so well that Bentley has already been asked to do the cover for the sequel!
Now doing work for Sky Warrior Books A new publishing house imprint is being created by Author M.H. (Maggie) Bonham, named Sky Warrior Book Publishing. Bentley was contacted by Bonham because of several covers done for her book, previously published by Yard Dog Press. Those covers have been licensed for e-published editions by Bonham. This led to successful negotiations to continue doing regular work with her new publishing company.
Bentley chosen to do the first print cover for Diminished Media Group Diminished Media Group is a small press that up to this point has published only e-books and e-magazines. They specialize in family-friendly fair of the (primarily) Christian variety, in the Sci-Fi and Fantasy genre. Bentley was quite honored to be selected as the artist for their first print book titled The Worker Prince by Bryan Thomas Schmidt, which is the first in a series. Stay tuned for the next release!
Bentley helps launch new imprint from Yard Dog Press Bentley was selected to create a cover for Selina Rosen's newest title, Black Rage. An honor just to be asked to do a cover for Selina, it also turns out to be doubly so since the title is also Yard Dog Press's first title for their newest imprint: Just Cause.
Bentley receives Worldcon Award Bentley won a Judge's Choice Award for his piece, Skycourse Rivalry, at the 70th World Science Fiction Convention, held this last year in Chicago. Bentley was also honored with a Chesley Award Nomination for his piece, Remember the Alamo Horror, in the category of Best Cover Illustration – Paperback Books.
Bentley's one-man show: "Other Worlds/Future Worlds" Bentley put on a one-man show at the Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) campus in Lancaster, PA from January 9, 2012 through February 24th. There was a reception and talk on Tuesday, January 31, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the gallery in the East Building. The show was titled "Other Worlds/Future Worlds" and featured some of Bentley's largest works spanning the last decade of digital compositions. Both works from his Master's Thesis show and current Illustration projects were represented.
Bentley & McCormick two person show: "Nicaraguan Contrasts" Both Mitch and Cathie produced a show of photographs taken during their Nicaragua trip with IAAA, which was first shown at Penn State Harrisburg. From February 2011 through February 2013, Capital Chiropractic Center hosted the show as an ongoing installation in their offices.

Bentley & McCormick working for ASFA Mitch has been re-elected President of The Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists (ASFA) for the 2012/13 term. Cathie has also been elected Secretary. As a team, we are working on updates and upgrades for ASFA to connect more vigorously through social media with a more robust online presence and infrastructure. Please visit the ASFA website or Facebook Page for more details. In January of 2010, MB became the President of ASFA. One of the first things Bentley did was to create an ASFA Facebook Fan Page. Membership info and links to join can be found on the ASFA website, which is still under construction. His term runs through January 2012, but he is up for re-election and is willing to serve another term.
